CrossFit Games 2021 will be taking place in a few weeks and many CrossFit Games participants are very excited. Besides the usual competitions like the men's, women's events will also take place. Women's competition

The 2021 Crossfit Games' women's competition started this morning with the swim race. Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr and Jonne Koski won in the first event. Koski was the overall champion after she maintained her lead throughout. Tall and Eramoo O'Connell came in second and third, respectively. It was the women's first event in the Games and the women's side was hoping to complete the podium.

The women’s competition is populated with high-level competitors. The field includes nine athletes. One of them is a 19-year old powerhouse, who won the Australian competition last year. Kara Saunders (Australian athlete) finished second in Australia. She was also eleventh worldwide for 2020. Andrea Nisler, a rising star who competed for the team division in 2018, finished third in America and fifteenth overall in 2020. This competition will include these athletes and Sara Sigmundsdottir of Iceland, a newcomer to Crossfit. She won the first place Medal at the World Crossfit Games earlier.

Pegboard contest

The Pegboard contest at the Crossfit Games 2021 was a first. Along with dumbbell overhead squats and double-unders, it was included in the Games' summer Olympic programme. Toomey-Orr held the record for most Games wins with 30. Sager won Event 11 men's and received his third Games win. There were several ties in the contest, but Toomey-Orr's dominance was not enough to keep him out of the win.

CrossFit Games are a competition where athletes focus on ten skills that improve their physical fitness: speed, agility, cardiovascular endurance, strength and flexibility. The scoring table used in the 2019 games was nearly identical to the one used in 2021, so it's likely that this will continue to be the case.

This year's CrossFit Games Field includes 236 athletes. This is the largest field in its history. The six first events lead to major cuts. The field is then reduced to 75 athletes. The top thirty athletes then compete in a sprint team to determine the top 10. From there, the top 20 athletes compete in the remaining six events. Castro's system was criticised by veteran Games participants, who felt that the cuts were too significant.

Reebok's equipment

Reebok recently announced new CrossFit Games equipment, including clothing and shoes. The Nano X1 are the new shoes. They are designed to suit multiple fitness requirements. Reebok has billed this shoe as "the shoe of fitness," but it actually feels more like a traditional training shoe. DuPont's Kevlar upper promotes breathability while ensuring durability. The company will no more refer to itself by the name "Reebok Fitness Games", as it does right now.
